Recruitment Fraud

We have been informed that various individuals and organizations are contacting potential applicants offering false employment opportunities with Baccarat Hotel New York. We take these actions seriously and have notified the appropriate legal authorities to stop this fraudulent activity.

What is Recruitment fraud?

Recruitment fraud is a growing trend where an individual or organization offers fictitious job opportunities in the hopes of garnering either money or personal data from applicants. This type of fraud could involve fake recruitment e-mails, websites, or job posts. In this case, the perpetrators claim to be associated with Baccarat Hotels & Resorts’ Human Resources department. These emails request recipients to provide personal information and payments in order to process false applications and job offers.

How to identify Recruitment fraud?

The perpetrators of Recruitment Fraud often ask recipients to complete bogus recruitment documentation, such as application forms, terms and conditions of employment or visa forms. The Baccarat Hotel name, logo and other brand elements are often featured on the documentation without our authority.

There is an early request for personal information such as address details, date of birth,  CV, passport details, bank details etc.

- Candidates are requested to contact other companies/individuals such as lawyers, bank officials, travel agencies, courier companies, visa/immigration processing agencies etc.

- E-mail correspondence is often sent from free web-based e-mail accounts such as Yahoo.com, Yahoo.co.uk, Gmail.com, Googlemail.com, Live.com, usa.com, etc.

- The perpetrators may frequently use mobile telephone numbers beginning with +44(0)70 instead of official company numbers.

- The perpetrators may even offer to pay a percentage of the fees requested and ask the candidate to pay the remaining amount.

- The perpetrators request that applicants respond urgently to correspondence received.
