Michel Barge Growing up in the Allier area of central France, Michel Barge found himself fascinated by glass blowing from an early age. He went on to study in nearby Moulins at L’Ecole Nationale du Verre, the country’s national glass school. He settled in Baccarat, where the maison hired him in 1980. Over the course of two decades, Barge developed exceptional abilities, becoming a Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2000. He has consulted on many of Baccarat’s most prestigious orders, incomparable products, and collections, including its Tsar stemware and the reissue of its blue and red narghiles waterpipes.
